The Brothers' Fate

If this be fate then what a cruel one indeed,
One brother falls by the way,
Yet the Other continues on and leads.

You see while the leader is portrayed as a saint of a fair complexion,
His brother is forced to play the demon of a darker skin.

One stands as a symbol of faith,
the other beaten by faithful and feared by the heathens.

However the roles should be reversed,
for a heart of light dwells within the brother cursed,
while the brother blessed contains a heart of night.

But alas who here would listen to a demon's plight?

The people were the sheep and the saint the shepherd.
The demon decided that he would become the lion.

So every night he'd go out and 'devour',
After a while he built himself a movement of misfits, and outcast,
They met in secret wearing white suits and black mask.

The faithful grew none the wiser
to busy building up the false god's empire.

Then one night the demons lit a pyre
It spread through the streets
Setting the city on fire

And from the distraction did the demons attack
"We strike hard, we strike swift and fast"

And so they fought down to the last
The bothers now standing face to mask

A clash resounds in the temple under a statue of their father
Both with nothing on their minds but slaughter

Finally in a final thrust both brothers impaled

As the breath leaves their lungs a final apology is uttered at the same time
"Im sorry brother, goodbye"
